DOCTORS, lawyers, accountants and other professionals who do not sell products or items should not have to pay business taxes because they are paid for services rendered to their clients.

Professional fees or payments derived from their services can’t be considered as business income because these are personal income, which the City is prohibited from taxing under Section 133-a of the Local Government Code (LGC).
