Mactan-Ceu International Airport has a
new traffic scheme on the arrival area. It was being implemented on June
22, 2007. Drivers are informed that the Airport arrival road is for DIAGONAL
LOADING ONLY. Driver of vehicles intending to pick-up arriving passengers
should enter the arrival road only when the flight of the arriving passenger
to be picked up has arrived. The road (called as the "arrival road")
fronting the arrival terminal is NOT A PARKING AREA so only 5 minutes
is allowed for vehicles to diagonally stay for loading and vehicles must
be attended. Otherwise, drivers will be apprehended by Airport Police
for traffic violation.
Driver of vehicles (intending to pick-up arriving passengers) UPON REACHING
THE 5 MINUTE LIMIT of stay in the diagonal loading space must turn around
to give way to other incoming vehicles. Bosses of drivers or owners of
vehicles are advised to provide their drivers cellphones when entering
the airport to avoid the situation of having their drivers apprehended
for airport traffic violation.
