September 26, 2009 when typhoon Ondoy hit The Philippines. Though we were not devastated like the Luzon area, we still have fellow Filipinos that suffered the damage from the typhoon.
On October 7, 2009, 40 survivors of the typhoon were brought home to Cebu City with the help of the Lapu-Lapu City Government. They were the fishermen - common folks of Olango Island - who were hit by the typhoon in the middle of the ocean. Luckily, they were saved and were carried by the waves to Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
