Zest Air, a new player, had 156 domestic flights for the month of August. On the other hand, international flight traffic yielded 2% increase from the 2008 figure. Cebu Pacific maintains its standing as the airline that has the most number of flights in the international end alone as it has a total number of 170 international flights translating to 25% of the total flights for the month of August. JEJU Air, Asiana and Korean Air contributed to the positive variance in the flight traffic. General Aviation flight traffic dropped by 23% low.
Passenger traffic for the domestic reached a total of 327,087 and registered a 30% increase as compared to last year's traffic of the same period. The output of the international cargo for the month of August is the highest so far as compared to the preceding months this year. Cargo traffic showed only 3% below the 2008 performance.
