Aid for New Terminal Study - Signing of Records of Discussions (ROD)


April 28, 2009 when the officials from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Mactan – Cebu International Airport Authority and Department of Transportation and Communications sign the records of discussions on the technical assistance of KOICA to the MCIAA for the upgrading of the airport’s master plan and feasibility study for a new passenger terminal.

The feasibility and drafting of a master plan is estimated to worth $1.1 million, but the construction cost has not been made public. The said amount will be shouldered by the KOICA provided that the Philippine Government will create a steering committee and a technical working group who will be responsible for securing the required clearances and permits in the conduct of the study and provide maps of the proposed and relative data.

The implementation will happen between 2010 and 2011. KOICA will also provide experts and equipment and train local officials and engineering personnel in Korea.
