Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority will be celebrating its 19th year anniversary this coming December 18, 2009. A set of activities are being prepared that will highlight how it is to be 19 and still growing.
The Authority was created through Republic Act 6958 otherwise known as its corporate charter. RA 6958 was approved July 31, 1990 but the authority started to operate on December 18, 1990 thus marks the anniversary of the institution.
This year’s theme is “Strengthening Linkages, Rising Above Challenges!” The chosen theme hopes to build momentum from last year when MCIAA had a debut of sorts at 18. MCIAA hopes to convey with this theme that though still young, it is ready to face bigger challenges.
In connection with the anniversary celebration, a static display of all general aviation and military aircrafts on the ramp on December 18-20, 2009 will be held in cooperation with the Aviation Society of the Philippines, Philippine Air Force, Several Aviation Operators and Airline Operators.
